PROJECT MERI

Project Meri is dedicated to enhancing women’s health in Papua New Guinea through a comprehensive initiative. We provide essential maternal packs and feminine hygiene products to support women in need. In addition to these resources, we focus on raising awareness about women’s health issues and fostering community involvement. Join us in making a meaningful impact on the lives of women across PNG!

Recent Events

Project Yumi Inc. recently donated two ultrasound machines to Gerehu Hospital. These machines have been fully tested and are set to be installed in the Obstetrics & Gynecology and Radiology departments, providing a vital boost to diagnostic services within the region.
This donation will enable healthcare professionals to perform critical diagnostic procedures, including prenatal examinations for expectant mothers, early detection of internal organ issues, and guided medical procedures. Access to reliable equipment like this is essential for effective healthcare delivery, and Project Yumi is honored to help make these essential services more accessible to the people of Papua New Guinea(PNG).

Special thanks to Belnic Constructions for the facilitation of the partnership with Queensland X-Ray and delivery of the ultrasound machines to Project Yumi. Thanks also to Oilmin Field Services for assisting with the delivery to the hospital. Project Yumi remains dedicated to improving healthcare across Papua New Guinea and looks forward to further collaboration with organisations in PNG to enhance the quality of health services for those in need.

BLOOD DONATION CAN SAVE LIVES 🩸

Project Yumi volunteers in Port Moresby had the chance to donate blood at the Sir Brian Bell Center for Transfusion Medicine (SBBCTM) over two days in the month of February. This event was in line with Project Yumi's Project Meri initiative that has a focus on enhancing the health of women and girls in Papua New Guinea. It also relates to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) - to promote well-being and healthy lives for all people at every age.

Donated blood helps:

women with complications of pregnancy

people with severe trauma

children with severe anemia

many complex medical and surgical procedures and more...

The SBBCTM provides a FREE mini health check for anyone who turns up to donate blood at the center and there is also FREE Wi-Fi provided at the center courtesy of Vodafone Papua New Guinea. The Sir Brian Bell Foundation Ltd  continues to be a valued and committed partner for Project Yumi and it’s operations in PNG
